Premium Hedgehog Food Biscuits

Our Premium Hedgehog Food Biscuits are tailored to the needs of the species and can be fed pre-hibernation and during the warmer months when they are most active. In autumn, hedgehogs will find a sheltered space in the wild to hibernate, or in gardens among piles of leaves (be careful not to disturb them!) and the food can be stored until the spring when they wake up again. This food should be offered to hedgehogs in a shallow dish, so they can easily reach it, and placed alongside a dish of fresh, clean water.

Did you know that during hibernation hedgehogs can lose up to 40% of their body fat? When they wake up, they are in desperate need of a high-calorie, nutritious meal to build up their strength ahead of the busy breeding season. We developed this recipe to ensure hedgehogs have access to a beneficial meal, which will be especially welcome when their natural food sources such as worms, beetles and slugs are scarce.

To make sure hedgehogs benefit from all the nourishing ingredients in our food, we incorporated them into one biscuit. This way, hedgehogs can’t just pick out some pieces and leave others, giving them a balanced meal.
